Iga Swiatek wins Wimbledon 2025 in a one sided final
Iga Swiatek has finally ended the long wait. After five failures on grass, the 24-year-old managed to win her first trophy at Wimbledon. She defeated Amanda Anisimova in a one-sided final held at the centre court. Swiatek took just 54 minutes to wrap up the match and win her sixth Grand Slam. Dominance on the centre court
Iga Swiatek was expecting Aryna Sabalenka to join her, but Anisimova had other plans. The path for a sixth Grand Slam now became easy for the Polish star. She had the experience of playing in a Grand Slam final, and everyone witnessed it from point one. Swiatek broke Anisimova in the first game. The American saved on break point but lost the second one. Swiatek continued her good form and broke once again in the third game. This was the longest point in the set.

Iga Swiatek crushes Anisimova with ruthless precision
Anisimova got three chances to win the game, but Swiatek never allowed her to do so. Her domination throughout the set led to a 6-0 win. Iga converted three out of the four break points earned. Amanda struggled with the first serve. She only had a 33% success rate from 21 attempts. This was one of the biggest reasons why she struggled to take a point. The 23-year-old American had a chance to make a comeback.

Two sets were left, but Swiatek was already on the lead. Anisimova needed to show her best game in order to stay in the game. Swiatek was looking sharp and once again broke on the first serve. Iga Swiatek: Records broken
A 6-0, 6-0 win for Iga Swiatek broke plenty of records in open-era tennis. She became the first Polish player to win the Wimbledon title. For the first time in the open era, a player has beaten another player by a scoreline of 6-0, 6-0 in the Wimbledon final. This is the second instance where a player has denied the opposition from taking a point in a final. Stefi Graf was the only player to do so before Swiatek. Graf won the French Open in 1988.
Most of the women’s tennis players have been inconsistent over the years. Some have performed well on a particular surface and struggled on others. Swiatek is the only active player in women’s division to win a Grand Slam on every surface. Wimbledon also witnessed their eighth new champion in as many years.
At 24, Swiatek becomes the youngest player to win all three Grand Slam since Serena Williams did it in 2002. She is also the fastest woman to register 100 Grand Slam match wins since Williams in 2004.
