BNP Paribas Open 2025: Who made it to the semi-finals?
BNP Paribas Open 2025 has reached the final stages of the competition. We have out eight semi-finalists across the men’s and women’s division. There were already a few upsets in the men’s singles tournament but the remaining top players have found their way into the semis.
The BNP Paribas Open 2025: Two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz advances
Carlos Alcaraz is looking for three-in-a-row at the Indian Wells. He booked a semi-final berth following a straight-sets win over his Argentine opponent, Francisco Cerundolo. It was an easy first set for the No. 2 seed. He wrapped it up with a score of 6-3. The second set was a bit challenging. It went into a tie-breaker which Alcaraz won 7-4.

Alcaraz earned three break points in the game and converted two. Cerundolo, on the other hand struggled to convert his break points. Of the nine break points earned, Cerundolo only converted one.
Draper ends Shelton’s challenge
Jack Draper also booked his place in the last four with a win over Ben Shelton. Draper won the first set 6-4 and wrapped up the match with a 7-5 win in the second set. The first serve was the reason behind success and failure. Draper had a 72% success rate on first serve, while Shelton struggled with just 56% success. Shelton was able to convert his only break point and Draper broke thrice in the match.

Medvedev & Fils play a three-set thriller
Daniil Medvedev is another top contender for the BNP Paribas Open 2025. He was up against Arthur Fils of France. Medvedev won the first set 6-4. It was looking like an easy win for the powerhouse. However, Arthur Fils had some other plans. He won the second set 6-2.

The deciding set went end to end and eventually into a tie-breaker. Medvedev won the set after a thrilling 9-7 win in the tie breaker. Arthur Fils won four break points and Medvedev won three.

Holger Rune completes a big comeback
Holger Rune had to make a comeback from a set down against his Dutch opponent, Tallon Griekspoor. Rune lost the first set 7-5. He then turned around the match with a 6-0 and 6-3 win.

Sabalenka, Keys, Swiatek and Andreeva reach the last four
The women’s championship saw all the big names making it to the last four. Iga Swiatek was the first player to book her entry. She defeated her Chinese opponent, Qinwen Zheng 6-3, 6-3 in straight sets.
Aryna Sabalenka also eased past Liudmila Samsonova. Sabalenka won 6-2 and 6-3 to book her place in the semi-finals. Madison Keys was also dominant in her match against Belinda Bencic. The USA’s tennis star just gave away two games in the entire match. She won both sets by 6-1. 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva continued her good run. Mirra won 7-5 and 6-3 against her Ukrainian opponent, Elina Svitolina.
