The US Open 2024 has seen World No. 1, Jannik Sinner, advance to the semifinals. The Italian tennis star has reached the last four for the first time in his career. He will face Jack Draper of Great Britain in the semis. Draper also advanced to the last four for the first time. He is the fourth British player to reach the semi-final stage of the US Open.
The US Open 2024: Sinner passes Medvedev’s test
Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev faced each other in the fourth quarter-final clash of the US Open 2024. Medvedev had won the US Open previously and was looking to add another Grand Slam to his name. Sinner, on the other hand, is enjoying a great season. He won the Australian Open, reached the last four in Roland Garros and exited Wimbledon in the quarter-finals.

Sinner Rises as Favourite After Djokovic and Alcaraz Exits
Following Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz’s exit, Sinner became the favourite to win the US Open. He showed his class against Medvedev by winning the first set 6-2. Daniil Medvedev is a hard-hitter and was not going down easily. He won the next set 6-1. Sinner was up for the challenge. The Italian won the third set 6-1 and wrapped up the match with a 6-4 win in the fourth set.
Jannik Sinner had 15 break points but he only converted five. Medvedev, on the other hand, converted two out of the eight break points. This win takes Sinner one step closer to his second Grand Slam.

Jack Draper continues his dream run
The 22-year-old British tennis player is on a roll in the US Open 2024. Jack Draper advanced to the semis after a straight set victory over Alex de Minaur. Draper is yet to drop a set in the tournament. He took the first set 6-3. Alex de Minaur gave some competition in the second set but lost it by a score of 7-5. Draper wrapped up the match with a 6-2 win in the final set.
Jack Draper has reached the semi-final stage of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career. This is his best run in any tournament. He is regarded as a hot prospect in the game. Andy Murray was the last Britisher to win the US Open. He won the 2012 final against Novak Djokovic.

Sinner Aims for Historic US Open Victory
Both players look in fine form going into the semis. Sinner is just one year elder to Draper. Both players have plenty of potential. Jannik Sinner will have the chance to win his second Grand Slam. He can also become the first Italian player to win the US Open.
Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe will go head-to-head in the other semi-final. This will be an all-American semi-final. We will witness a new winner in the US Open. Andy Roddick was the last American to lift the trophy. He won the tournament in 2003.
