Jannik Sinner took his revenge following the loss in the French Open final. The Italian was two sets up in that match. Alcaraz made an epic comeback to win the next three sets in an epic fashion. It was a huge setback for Sinner, who was in a commanding position but couldn’t convert his chances.

Alcaraz takes the first step

Alcaraz was a two-time defending champion. He knew that Sinner would come with full strength after picking up an easy win against Djokovic in the last round. It was Sinner who broke first in the match. Alcaraz was 4-2 down early in the game. However, the Spaniard was not letting Sinner win so easily. Carlos won the next four games which included two breaks as well. The set ended in Alcaraz’s favour. Carlos converted two out of the three break points earned in the set. His 1st serve win percentage was better than that of Sinner’s. The Italian was on the backfoot in this match.

Jannik Sinner makes early break in second set

Jannik Sinner knew that he had to win this set to remain in the game. The Italian was focused and broke in the first serve of the set. He then stopped Alcaraz from breaking in the very next game. Sinner got another chance to break late in the set but Alcaraz denied him the opportunity. Both players failed to break again and Sinner took the set 6-4. Sinner converted one out of the four break points earned and Alcaraz failed to convert his one break point.

The first Italian to win Wimbledon

After winning the second set, Sinner looked more confident on the court. He was denied two break points by Alcaraz in the first game of the third set. Sinner also held on to his serve and denied any possible opportunity of a break point. The Italian broke late in the game and served for the final point. He won the third set 6-4.

Once again Sinner broke early in the fourth set. He took a 2-1 lead in the set and was one step closer to his first Wimbledon title. Carlos tried to break but was denied two opportunities. Jannik held on to his serve and took the set 6-4. One break point in each set was enough for Sinner to win his fourth Grand Slam.

Record breaker Sinner

Jannik Sinner’s Wimbledon 2025 win makes him the first Italian to win this Grand Slam in the open era. With four major titles to his name, Sinner registers himself as the most successful Italian man on the court.
