The French Open 2025 has come to an end. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner put up a show in the final of the tournament. The Spaniard came out on top in an encounter that lasted for five hours and 26 minutes. This was one of the best finals held at Roland Garros. Alcaraz showed his class after making a comeback from two sets down to win back-to-back French Open titles. Sinner lost his first Grand Slam final and failed to win three Grand Slams in a row.

Jannik Sinner returned to action after three months away due to a doping ban. He was the favourite to win the final but had to face a tough challenge in his quest for a first French Open. Alcaraz was the defending champion, and Sinner needed to be at his best against the Spaniard.
It was Sinner who took the early advantage. He broke Alcaraz early in the match. The Italian broke his opponent twice in the first set, while Alcaraz managed to make a single break. This set lasted for just over an hour, and Sinner took it 6-4.

The second set was full of end-to-end stuff. Alcaraz was the first one to break in this set, but Sinner made a comeback in the very next game. With one break each andthe scores level, the set headed into a tiebreaker. Alcaraz took a 2-1 lead in the breaker, but Sinner had other ideas. He won the next five points and was on a set point. Alcaraz won the next two points but was unable to prevent his opponent from winning the tiebreaker. Sinner was two sets up, and Alcaraz was in all sorts of problems.

Start of a comeback
Carlos Alcaraz needed to win the next two sets. However, he made a poor start by allowing a break early in the third set. Alcaraz then broke Sinner in the very next game. The Spaniard won another break to lead the set 3-1. Sinner broke late to take the score to 5-4 and served to stay in the set. Alcaraz had some other plans and broke for the third time in the set. He won 6-4.
Three match points saved
Jannik Sinner will be kicking himself after giving away three match points in the fourth set. The set was tied at 3-3 before Sinner broke for the first time in the fourth set. He led at 5-3 and had a chance to win on Alcaraz’s serve. Sinner led 0-40 and had three match points. Alcaraz saved these three match points and broke Sinner’s serve in the very next game. The set went into a tiebreaker. Alcaraz lost the first two points but took the next seven out of the eight points to win the set 7-6.
Big end to this epic encounter
Both players had given their all, and the match headed into the fifth set. These two players broke once in the set and played the third tie-breaker of the match. Alcaraz took the first seven points and then wrapped up the tie-breaker 10-2 to win his second French Open.
