Jasmine Paolini: Breathing New Life into Italian Open Legacy
Jasmine Paolini became the first Italian player in 40 years to win the Italian Open 2025. She is also the third Italian woman player to win this competition in its 95-year history. Paolini was up against Coco Gauff, and she defeated her in straight sets to win her second WTA 1000 title.

She lost a chance to win her 11th title.

Jasmine Paolini is a 29-year-old tennis player from Italy. She is the current world No. 5 and has been ranked as high as No. 4 in the rankings. Paolini turned pro in 2015, and since then, she has added a few titles to her name.
Paolini has won three singles and seven doubles titles on the WTA Tour. The 2024 Dubai Championships were her first WTA 1000 title. She has also represented her country in the Olympics. Paolini went on to win the Gold Medal in Paris last year. She won the doubles Gold.
