Jessica Pegula made a heroic comeback to advance to her first Grand Slam final. The 30-year-old US tennis player was up against Karolina Muchova of Czechia. Muchova won the first set 6-1. She was playing in her second US Open semi-final. However, the Czech player failed to capitalize on her first set win.

This will be the eighth meeting between these two tennis stars. Aryna Sabalenka has the upper hand as she has won five matches against the same opponent. Pegula is four years elder to Sabalenka but the Belarusian has a better overall record. These two players last met each other in the Cincinnati Open 2024 final held in August. Sabalenka won the WTA 1000 tournament in straight sets (6-3, 7-5).
